What is an ice dam?
An ice dam is a ridge of ice that forms at the edge of a roof and prevents melting snow (water) from draining off the roof.
Effects of ice damming:
The water that backs up behind the dam can leak into a home and cause damage to walls, ceilings, insulation, and other areas.

WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR?? Look for stains on ceilings. When this happens, you know there is a problem. The source of the leak may not be obvious; water will run downhill and the leak may not be directly above the stains. Give S&D Prime Maintenance a call to inspect any interior stains you may find. 800.660.6028 |
